78 Buxton Road is an end-of-terrace property built by Barretts Homes in the 1980s. It had two stories with a loft extension completed in 2010 under permitted development, providing a full-width rear dormer and two front-facing roof lights. The house was of sub-standard construction, with high energy consumption associated with buildings of this period.
The initial design proposal was to construct a three-story side extension in the side garden and a single-story full-width rear extension.
