Our Quarry House project was published in this month’s RIBA magazine, showcasing the Schueco glazing systems we used to meet the Passive House performance of the project. The glazing supplier, Aumaxum were really fantastic throughout and used Schueco systems to full effect in many challenging applications.

Two projects are on site, which both explore reused and low embodied carbon materials in a different way.

The first in Whitechapel is a substantial reconfiguration of an existing end of terrace house, in which the side gable wall was deconstructed and reconstructed at an offset - not dissimilar to opening a drawer. The new elements of the now-wider house, are timber frame in construction and clad in a Russwood timber cladding.

The second, a small addition to a house in Eltham uses repurposed glulam beams along with salvaged cast iron structure to created a cantilevered roof structure over a new kitchen space.

Both projects well underway and taking shape...

Photographs of construction on our Rotherhithe housing development. Six duplex apartments are taking shape this month using prefabricated timber panels, glulam by @merronbrook. The scheme’s massing was developed in response to avoiding overlooking to the neighbouring properties, and it is exciting to see the form taking shape one panel at a time.
