Salford, Housing for Life

Competition, 2010

This competition for the development of a brown-field site in Salford, UK explored ways in which a high density scheme could be developed which maximised solar access to the dwelling uits both as a passive strategy to minimise operational energy consumption and as a way to enhance well-being for the occupants within. This project built on research undertaken on the same subject, for wihch we were awarded best paper in the  PLEA (Passive Low Energy Architecture)conference, 2008 here.
